End of Sculpture
So sculpture has ended, as a class. Next up is trying a little bit of Ceramics. seeing how that is starting in february. My standing pose statue has gone into the kiln, and my bust is done ( though what i’m going to do with the bust of a woman’s head, i’ve no idea ).
i’m still trying to find the right patina for the seated pose figure, to make it look like its rusting/aging copper.
I’ll get to take home the fired Bust and statue in early february when I go back for my new class.
Last Standing Pose
Dec 1st ended up being the last day for the standing pose. scheduling got out of whack, and although its abrupt we brought our pieces to a finish. Here’s some images of how he looks before i started finishing him off and carving him to look more like some abstract wooden man and playing with proportions. The biggest quandary i found myself facing was whether or not to make him a ken-doll nude, or a fertility figure nude.
Sculpture
so i have a penchant for sculpture, besides the drawing and painting and craftiness. but since the first piece in terracotta from the class at the Y isn’t done yet, I can only post a few pictures from it in progress. Its my first terracotta, hope it turns out well.
